Dog Supplies

Dog supplies are important to the health of your pet. Granted, not all of them are health oriented. The term “supply” could refer to just about anything. Need a sewing supply? Check out this needle and thread! How about a cooking supply… well that could be a frying pan, a butcher knife, celery, pepper, water, oil, a stove, grill, cutting board, or kitchen sink. Talk about vague terminology!

So for the sake of argument, we’ll confine dog supplies to the realm of things you buy to keep your dog healthy. Even within that arguably narrow category, there are a plethora of things to talk about. There are flea collars, tick treatments, heartworm medications, vaccinations, and much more. That’s before you consider things like dental hygiene and proper feeding.

The fact is that many dog supplies, especially the health variety, are situational. Giving your dog a tick treatment when you live in the middle of suburbia and your dog never goes near a wooded area doesn’t really make sense. Treating a dog for intestinal parasites when he doesn’t have them is an equally poor display of judgment. A veterinarian will usually tell you if a treatment on that level is required, so the best thing you can do is have your dog checked regularly, even when he seems healthy.
